Even though CM ended in 2001, we still continue the tradition of the Melonpatch guestbook. Many family and friends keep in touch, make plans and make special announcements via the guestbook. Enjoy posting and reading others who still talk about the Melon days. As long as you're looking and keeping this alive, we'll keep changing the batteries. Thanks for all the support and who knows...remember the road does go on forever......

GREAT Show at Amos' Saturday night! I dragged my husband and friend to the show to introduce them to your music! It was SO great to hear you guys live again! I used to sneak into clubs in high school to hear you guys, so it was nice to hear you being "legal" now. :-) Hope you guys keep doing what you do, and you've got another fully loyal fan here in Charlotte! You guys rock!!!

Just sitting here studying for finals (finishing my second year in law school at the age of 43!!) and for some reason decide to visit the Melon Patch...and I am so glad I did!! Even though I am in NJ and a trip down south for a show is a pipedream right now, it made my day to see that Cravin' Melon has been playing some shows :-) Head Melon: the "video" was awesome and actually made me tear up (was it sentiment or just a result of extreme stress? Who cares!) Thanks again for everything. (P.S. Does anyone know how I can get back in touch with Gary Greene? E-mail me if you do...) Have a great day everyone!!!

Reviewer: A music fan
Sheer talent! This live CD by Cravin' Melon makes me wonder why more people have not heard of this talented group. The lead singer has a voice that can make any heart melt. The guitar player is one the most talented individuals I have ever heard. Add a bass that puts you into gear and a drummer that kicks you in the rear :-) and Cravin' Melon is what you get. Having this live CD in your collection gives you the dose of Melon that you need when you need it. One can clearly see that this group has the music in their hearts and in their souls. I will recommend this CD to anyone who loves music and talent.

G-Vegas, USA - Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 10:17:44 (CST)Good news kids. Squeeze Me is available through Global Media for 77 cents, but close to $3 shipping. He ships 4th class, so it takes a LOOOOONG time to get here, and the cheap price is because they are the "stamped" promotional copy CD's. (Gold text on the front of the liner card that says "Promotional Copy Only, Not for Resale, blah, blah, blah.) Anyway, he's an Amazon certified partner... Go to Amazon.com, search for "Squeeze Me" under "Popular Music", then click on the "New and Used" link. Now I don't have to kick squa the jack@ss that stole my other copy! USA - Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 10:26:46 (EST)Doug and Jim, last night at Wild Wing was great! I needed a dose of live Cravin', and it did the trick. It's refreshing to hear those familiar lyrics sung in person. Wild Wing is no Be Here Now, but it works. Heard a couple I hadn't heard before too, loved them. Don't be strangers...

Memories.....
- Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 12:22:04 (EDT)It goes a little somethin' like this :)
Tell me shiny little star how the hell'd we get this far in this world that we have made. Do I belive the things I do because I know that they're the truth, or is it that i'm just afraid. There's a power in your eyes. The only thing that keeps me goin' when I realize I think that I belive in love and in heaven up above, all the things that I can't see. I guess the sun will rise again, that a broken heart will mend, that i'm where I wanna be. Poor, poor faithless me. Tell me when i'm supposed to see if this is what life holds for me, singing songs up on a stage. Does the beggar on the street deserve the fate that they receive and is their life my job to save. There's a power in your eyes, the only thing that keeps me goin' when I realize that I think that I belive in love and in heaven up above all the things that I can't see. I guess the sun will rise again, that a broken heart will mend, that i'm whereI wanna be. Poor, poor faithless me. Poor, poor faithless me. Lyin' in in my bed at night am I the only one who wonders if the things we do are right. There's a power in your eyes. The only thing that keeps me goin' when I realize when I think that I belive in love and in heaven up above, all the things that I can't see. I guess the sun will rise again, that a broken heart will mend, that i'm where I wanna be. Poor, poor faithless me, poor, poor faithless me, poor, poor faithless me.

Charleston, SC USA - Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 11:07:57 (EDT)Can somebody e-mail me the lyrics for "Faithless Me?" I looked on the music page, but there are no lyrics for that song. I was listening to Nickel Creek's latest album, and they have a song on it called "Doubting Thomas" that made me thing of "Faithless Me" lyrically.
I got a little "melon-choly" at the beach this year. I was riding down the road, and I popped in Red Clay Harvest. Perfect beach music. Made me sad that the band had to end.

Matthews, NC USA - Monday, August 15, 2005 at 15:55:13 (EDT)Hello everybody. I didn't know there was still a CM site, but I typed in "melonpatch.com" anyway, and was surprised when it popped up. I read through a lot of the entries and saw a lot of familiar names. I'm glad to see everybody is still listening to the music and keeping in touch. Just a quick update on me: I've got 4 children (ages 6,5,4 and 2)and my house is very loud and active. I play with Jimbo every month or so in our first band, The Next Move. Doug got up with us at a show and sang "Hard to Handle" and "Keep Your Hands to Yourself", which was really cool and it felt like 1993 at Myskyns or the Windjammer. My cousins in Raleigh called me last basketball season and said they heard "Come Undone" and "Sweet Tea" at a Wolfpack game. Thanks Pack but Go Heels!! For the guy needing chords for "Come Undone", they are: Verse B-F#-E Chorus:E-F#-B-F# Bridge: E-F#-G#m-F#, E-F#-B-F#, E-F#-G#m-F#-E-F#. Hello to Ralo, Pat, anybody from FTJ, Rob Clay(where are you?), Dick(I hear from relatives you are the NC Simon(Cowell, not LeBon)), Myzze(congrats on your marriage). I hope everybody is doing great. Take care.

USA - Friday, April 22, 2005 at 09:47:32 (EDT)Hey y'all! Just wanted to let you know what happened this past Sun. at WW in Ga. They simply had no where for me to play that was not directly under the sun. I tried to work out something to get some shade, but it just wouldn't work. I won't go into it, but my family history just does not allow me to stay out in the sun for that long during the hottest part of the day. I do appologize to anyone who made the trip, I do appreciate your support. I drove 5 hours myself, but I won't be doing that again. I'm canceling the remaining dates I have there, nothing against WW, but I need to find a place to play down that way where I can do what I do and not just fill a spot that they have available from time a to time b while so much else is going on. I'm trying to get a date at Eddie's Attic again, but I need to be able to put some people in there, otherwise I have to wait until I can get on another songwriter night. That probably won't happen for a while. It's so frustrating, but the only places where I can play often are the places that require covers and 3+ hour sets. I simply can't afford to play places where I have to drive, stay over, and not be guaranteed money. I don't have it like that. Once again I appologize to everyone who went out of their way, I will do what I can to make it up to you!
